"Timing" Menu

Some of the most common commands.

Command Shortcut Meaning
Play 0.5 Sec From Here & Grab Start Time [F] Play the video for 0.5 seconds (the number of frames is rounded) starting from the current frame, then rewind to the current frame. The SSA-style timestamp for the current frame is sent to Clipboard. This is handy for various purposes, especially when you are interested in subtitle-lip sync.
Play 0.5 Sec to Here & Grab End Time [A] Play the video for 0.5 seconds (the number of frames is rounded) until the current frame. The SSA-style timestamp for the current frame is sent to Clipboard. This is handy for various purposes, especially when you are interested in subtitle-lip sync.
Grab Current Time [G] Send to Clipboard the SSA-style timestamp for the current frame.
Start Playing & Grab / Stop [S] Play the video starting from the current frame. The SSA-style timestamp for the current frame is sent to Clipboard. If the video is already playing, simply pause it.
Around Here & Grab Current Time [H] Play the video from the current frame - 0.5 seconds to the current frame + 0.5 seconds. The SSA-style timestamp for the current frame is sent to Clipboard.
0.5 Sec Before Start [Shift]+[A] Play the video 0.5 seconds until the start time of the current Dialogue.
0.5 Sec After Start [Shift]+[S] Play the video 0.5 seconds from the start time of the current Dialogue.
0.5 Sec Before End [D] Play the video 0.5 seconds until the end time of the current Dialogue.
0.5 Sec After End [Shift]+[D] Play the video 0.5 seconds starting from the end time of the current Dialogue.
0.8 Sec From Here & Grab Start/End [E] Play the video starting from the current frame until the nearest frame at least 0.8 seconds later. The SSA-style timestamps for the current frame and the +0.8 seconds frame are both sent to the clipboard as Start Time and End Time. This is handy when you want to make a too short Dialogue longer so that it will have at least 0.8 seconds, and you want to use a specific frame as the start frame for the Dialogue in question.
0.8 Sec to Here & Grab Start/End [Shift]+[E] Play the video until the current frame from the nearest frame at least 0.8 seconds earlier. The SSA-style timestamps for the -0.8 seconds frame and the current frame are both sent to the clipboard as Start Time and End Time. This is handy when you want to make a too short Dialogue longer so that it will have at least 0.8 seconds, and you want to use a specific frame as the end frame for the Dialogue in question.
Review Current Dialogue [R] Play the video from the current Dialogue start time - 0.5 seconds to the current Dialogue end time + 0.5 seconds.
Play Current Dialogue [Alt]+[R] Play the video from the current Dialogue start time to the current Dialogue end time.
Copy Prev Keyframe Time [BackSpace] Send to Clipboard the SSA-style timestamp for the previous keyframe (or for the current frame if the current frame is a keyframe).
